यह एक अखबार की कहानी है जिसका  संपादक हैं चरित्र वर्मा। अखबार का नाम है जागते रहो। लेकिन चरित्र वर्मा अपनी कुर्सी पर हमेशा सोया हुआ पाया जाता है और अपनी खास शैली में रिपोटरों को हांकता है। उसकी टीम में एक से एक धुरंधर रिपोटर्स हैं, रतन ओझा, दिवाकर, रोहित, अनिता और संध्या। चेतना ट्रेनी जर्नलिस्ट है, उत्साह और उमंग से भरपूर। इस टीम में एक सेवा संपादक (चपरासी) भंडारी भी है जो संपादक बनने की महत्वकांक्षा पाले हुये है, और खुद को संपादक समझता भी है। इनकी कहानी को तेवरआनलाईन पर स्क्रीप्ट फारमेट में रखा जा रहा है ताकि पाठक कहानी का मजा उठाने के साथ-साथ स्क्रीप्ट लेखन की शैली से भी व्यवहारिक स्तर पर रू-ब-रू हों।      

सक्रीप्ट लेखन को लेकर कई तरह के भ्रम हैं। सामान्यतौर पर इस संबंध में कहीं विधिवत पढ़ाई की ठोस व्यवस्था भी नहीं है। एक्टिंग और डायरेक्शन समेत फिल्म मेकिंग की अन्य विधाओं को विभिन्न संस्थानों में तव्वजो तो दिया जाता है, लेकिन सक्रीप्ट लेखन पर खास ध्यान नहीं होता । बहुत सारे लोग सक्रीप्ट लेखन के क्षेत्र में कदम रखने के इच्छुक तो होते हैं, लेकिन इसके विभिन्न पक्षों को समझने में काफी समय निकल जाता है। कई बड़े शहरों में स्क्रीप्ट लेखन को लेकर कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन तो किया जाता है, लेकिन वहां तक पहुंचने की प्रक्रिया काफी खर्चीली होती है। इन सब बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुये, इनफोटेन कालम में तेवरआनलाईन विधिवत स्क्रीप्ट लेखन कला को समग्र रूप से रखने जा रहा है। ताकि इस क्षेत्र में अपना कैरियर बनाने की चाह रखने वाले पाठकों को मदद मिल सके। सुविधा के लिए जागते रहो के कलाकारों का एक संक्षिप्त परिचय दिया गया है। दृश्यों और कलाकारों की गतिविधियों को अंग्रेजी में लिखा गया है, जैसा कि स्क्रीप्ट लेखन के मेनस्ट्रीम फारमेट में होता है और डायलाग को रोमन हिन्दी में। स्क्रीप्ट लेखन को लेकर पूरी तरह से व्यवहारिक दृष्टिकोण अपनाया गया है। इस संबंध में किसी भी तरह के सवाल का स्वागत है। उम्मीद है कि तेवरआनलाईन की यह पहल पाठकों को पसंद आएगी।

Introduction of the Characters

1.Charitra Veram, the editor in chief of the Jagate Raho newspaper, is sleeping soundly in his chair. Behind him there was a map of India. His desk is full of various newspapers. The chamber is shaking as if an earthquake has struck it. But he is completely unaware of it.

 Vo: (Voice over) Aha! Jagate Raho ke sampadk akasar sote hi rahate hain. Aur phir soye bhi kayon nahi…!!sari duniya ke samsyayon ko hal karane ka theka inhone apane sir per jo le rakha hai…nind me bhi yeh khabron ke sapane dekhate hai…philhal inhe sone dete hai….jagane per n jane kaya hungama khara kar denge.

 2. Ratan Ojha is moving in the press office boldly. His mouth is full of Gutaka. He looks here and there and spite on the wall..

 Vo: Are –are ye kaya….Phir diwar ko ganda kar diya…khair koi bat nahi…inako kuch kahana hi bekar hai…ye political reporter hain….lekin bina paise wale khabron ki taraph dekhate bhi nahi….din bhar khabar ke bajaye sham ki botal ki jugar me rahate hai….

Ojha : (After spiting ) sub sale chirkut hain….

 3. Chetana is standing in the office and a lot of papers are winding all around it. She seemed puzzled and amazed with little curiosity.

 Vo : Chetana Abhi abhi journalism ke kisi college se bahar nikali hai…Journalism me bahut kuch karane ka hausla hai….Philhal Jagate Raho mein trainee journalist ke rup me join kiya hai …Congrates Chetana ! ummid hai Charitra Verma ki team me aapako bahut kuch sikhane ko milega…

 4. Diwakar is busy with his computer, writing an article. He loves Hindi and always speaks good Hindi. His fingers are running fast on keyboard.

 Vo: Diwakar ke liye Jouranlism bichawan bhi hai aur orana bhi ….hamesa sachai ki talash me rahate hai….aur isake liye kisi bhi sima tak ja sakate hai….sach ko samane lane ka inaka apana tarika hai….aksar inaki naukari dav per lagi hoti hai….abhi kuch likh rahe hai…humm! Lagata  hai koi tagari khabar hath lagi hai…

 5. Rohit is sitting on a chair having his feet on the table and reading a newspaper. He looks to the camera and say hi…and again busy with the newspaper.

 Vo: Crime reporter Rhohit….Gunde, badmash, chor aur police sub inake dost hai…kabhi ye khabron ke piche bhagate hai to kabhi khabare inake piche bhagati hai….ye kanhi bhi pahunch jate hai….

 6.Anita takes up her bag from desk quickly and runs to to a certain direction in the office. She is in hurry and little tense.

 Vo: Khabar ko lekar Anita diwangi ke had ko par kar jati hai. Lagata hai inhe kisi khabar ke bare me pata chala hai…ab majal hai ki yeh office me ruk jaye….! philhal to inhe jane dijiye…

 7. Sandhya is doing his lips with lipistic using a hand glass.

VO. Sandhya Sampadak Charitra Verma ki hard fan hai…lekin khud kabar likhane me inka hath kapane lagata hai…halanki  apane tajurbon se yeh sikh gai hai ki akhabar me naukari bachaye rakhane ke aur bhi kai tarike hai….

 8. Bhandari comes to Charitra Verma’s cabin and looks at the name plate. Very skillfully he opens the door and try to see inside.

 VO. Bhadari seva sampadk hai….seva sampadak aap nahi samajhe?…office me sabhi logon ke liye chay- pani lana bhandari ka kam hai…lekin inka sapana hai sampadak ki kursi per baithane ka….khud ko sampadk hi samjhate hain aur reporters ko bhi dhauns me lene ka ek bhi mauka nahi chorate hain…yadi inaka bus chale to Charitra Verma ki kursi per ja baithen….sapadak tak reporters ki reporting karane me mahir hai…office  me Chairtar Verma ka aankh aur kan yahi hain..

 Ab Jagate  Raho ke ye sare kirdar kaya kuch karane wale hai…vo hame bhi nahi pata…behatar hoga aap khud dekhiye…

 (We need a title song or we can start without a song)

 (नोट: गीत लिखने का काम गीतकार का है। एक स्क्रीप्ट लेखक गीत के लिये परिस्थिति तैयार करता है, हालांकि दूसरे मुल्कों की फिल्मों या टीवी धारावाहिकों में गीत को ज्यादा तवज्जो नहीं दिया जाता। गीत और संगीत भारतीय फिल्मों की खास विशेषता रही है। दादा साहेब फाल्के से लेकर व्ही शांताराम, राजकपूर, देव आनंद, गुरुदत्त आदि ने अपनी फिल्मों में उम्दा स्तर के गीतों को पर्दे पर चलते-फिरते चरित्रों के साथ बहुत ही खूबसूरती से पिरोया है।)

रिवाज के मुताबिक स्क्रीप्ट को क्रमबद्ध संख्या में लिखा जाता है। मसलन सीन 1, सीन 2, सीन 3 आदि। एक सीन में कुल कितने चरित्र हैं उनका नाम पहले दिया जाता है, जैसे नीचे के सीन में दिया गया है। फिर लोकेशन देते हैं कि वह अंदर का सीन है या बाहर का। उसके बाद लाइट के लिहाज से इफेक्ट देते हैं कि वह सीन दिन का है, सुबह का है, शाम का है या फिर रात का। फिर सीन में चरित्र की स्थिति को दर्शाते हैं। चरित्र की गतिविधियों को अंग्रेजी में लिखने का रिवाज है (कम से कम मुंबई के मेनस्ट्रीम फिल्मों में तो है ही) और डायलाग को रोमन हिन्दी में। ऐसा कलाकारों की सहुलियत के लिये किया जाता है। हो सकता है कि किसी कलाकार को हिन्दी न आती हो। ऐसे में वह रोमन हिन्दी के सहारे अपने डायलाग याद कर सकता है। वैसे कारण कुछ भी हो, डायलाग के संदर्भ में सामान्यतौर पर यही प्रचलन है। तेवरआनलाईन इसी फारमेट को लेकर आगे बढ़ेगा।

Characters : Editor Charitra Verma and Ojha

Ent/Morning/ chamber of Charitra Verma

 (Charitra Verma is sleeping in his chair. AC is on. There are two phones and some newspapers on his table. Behind his chair there is a logo of Newspaper Jagate Raho in bold letters.  Ojha is standing before him. His mouth is full of Gutaka. He thinks for a little while, then picks up a bundle of newspapers from the table and throws it back on the table. Charitra Verma awakes all of sudden hearing the harsh sound .)

                                                         Charitra Verma

(Quickly with amazment) Bhukamp aa gaya…lakhon mare honge…reporters ko duty per lagao…puri story chahiye…aur side story bhi…

(Ojha looks to him like an owl, chewing Gutakha. Seeing Ojha in front of him chewing Gutakha, he lost his controls over himself)

Bhais ki tarha Jugali kaya kar rahe ho….reporton ko bulao…

 (Ojha tries to speak something but but due to Gutaka he does not speak clearly and Charitra Verma becomes more angry)

(In loud voice)

Bahar nikalo aur thuko….

(Ojha looks here and there as if he is searching something. He looks to dustbin at the feet of Charitra Verma. He comes down to it. Charitra Verma feels that Ojha is going to touch his feet and it irritates him)

 (In irritating tone)   

 Tum jaise logon ne patrakarita ko ganda kar rakha hai….tel lagane ke bajay kam karana sikho…

 (Ojha spites in dustbin and Charitra Verma looks at him with anger and surprise.)

                                          Ojha

Kayon aape se bahar ho rahe hain…?….koi bhukamp nahi aaya…

                               Charitra Verma

 (In angry and irritating tone)

To kaya main sapane dekh raha hun…?

                                    Ojha

Yadi meri bat per yakin na ho to khud bahar jaka dekh lijiye…

                              Charitra Verma

(sitting in his chair, taking jamhai )

Thik hai-thik hai…nahi aaya to aa jayega….Khabaron ko to main band aankon se bhi sungh leta hun….

(closing his eyes he smells in air)

                                    Ojha

Lekin ankhon se to dekha jata hai…sungha nahi.

                                Charitra Verma

Journalism me 20 sal tak maine makhi nahi mari hai….khair choro in baton ko….meeting ka kaya huya…?

                                 Ojha

Mujhe kaya pata…main to time per aa gaya

                        Charitra Verma

Akhabar me time per vohi aate hain, jinaki apani bibion se nahi patati

                                    Ojha

 (In teasing tone) Isliye aap din rat office me sote rahate hain….

                     Charitra verma

(in harsh tone) main sotha nahi hun..aankeh band kar ke chintan karata hun….

                                  Ojha

(sitting on a chair)

Reportron ke aane tak main bhi thora chintan kar lun…

(Charitra Verma says nothing but closes his eyes  and sleeps quickly.)

                                                                Scene 2

Characters : Chetana and Bhandari

Ext/day /out side building

(Chetana enters into the press building with her scooty. She is little excited as it is her first day in the office. Bhandari is standing there. He does not see her and she looses her control over scooty and it strikes against him. Bhandari fells down. She quickly have the scooty on stands and runs to Bhandari)

                                                    Chetana

Oh ! Really very sorry….mujhe pata hi nahi chala ki main kab yanha aa gai….

                               Bhandari

(having pain in his leg, he tries to stand ups) tum ho kaun? Aur  andar kaise aa gai?

                                Chetana                                   

(Giving her helping hand to Bhandari)

                               Chetana?

                               Bhandari

Chetana!!

                                  Chetana

 Mera nam hai…..aaj hi mujhe yanha join karana hai as a traninee….(Leaving Bhandari’s hands she tries to take out her joining letter from her beg)

Ye mere pas joining letter hai….(meanwhile Bhandari fells down again. She again tries to hold him. Bhandari looks to her angrily and stands himself.)

I am really very sorry….(Showing her letter to Bhandari)

Mujhe sampadak Charitra ji se milana hai.

                                 Bhandari

Vo to so rahe honge…mera matlab hai apane cabin me honge…(trying to impress her) vase yanha ke sabhi reportron ko maine hi train kiya hai….

(Chetana is impressed by him)

                                Chetan

(enthusiastically) Sir, mujhe bhi is field me bahut kuch karana hai….band baja dungi…

 (Bhandari feels his pain listening the word band)

Charitra ji ka cabin kidhar hai…?

(Bhandari puts his finger in a certain direction and Chetana runs to it.)

                                                            Scene 3

Characters : Chetana, Charitra Verma, Ojha, Diwakar, Anita, Rohit and Sandhya

 Ent/day/ inside office

(Chetana enters into office. From a little distance she sees the name plates of Charitra Verma and tries to get hersef in format, then she walks fast to it. She stops at the cabin. And then looks into, opening the door )

                            Chetana

May I comin……….

(She sees Charitra Verma and  Ojha are sleeping soundly. She is little puzzled and comes out. Then Diwaker enters into the office. She waits till Diwakar comes to the cabin. )

                                      Diwakar

(Looking to Chetana)

The meeting is going on?

(Chetana does not understand what he is asking. But she shakes her head in affirmation. Diwakar looks into the room and sees both Ojha and Chartra Verma are sleeping. He turns back and sits on a chair besides the cabin. Anita comes fast to the door of Charitra verma’ chamber. She has a bag in her hand. She comes to Diwakar )

                              Anita

(Looking to Diwakar)

AAj meeting nahi hogi kaya?

                                   Diwakar

 (Watching his watch)

Late ho gaya…Akele andar jane ki himmat nahi ho rahi…Verma ji ka lecture bhari parata hai…

                                        Anita

Andar kaun –kaun hai?

                                     Diwakar

Charitra aur Ojha

                                     Anita

Dono so rahe honge?

                                     Diwakar

(standing from the chair) Ye log ghar jate hi kab hain?…

Aao andar chale…

(Chetana is watching them with little curiosity. She is eager to talk to them but getting no chance to involve with them. Rohit and Sandhya come together in the office. They are happy.)

                        Rohit and Sandhya

(together) Good morning!!

Shubh prabhat ya namskar bolo….yadi Charitra

Saheb ne sun liya to sara bhut utar denge…

                                                  Anita

Jaldi meeting nipata kar mujhe kanhi jana hai…

                             Rohit

Kisi boy friend ko time de rakha hai kaya…?

                            Anita

(In a irritating  tone) Dirty mind….Are khabar leni hai yar..

                           Rohit

 Tum ladaki reportron ko log bula-bula kar khabr dete hai…humlogon ko kutte ki tarah dutkarate hain….

                              Anita

 Fijul ki baten choro aur andar chalo…pahale hi kaphi der ho gai hai…

                              Diwakar

 Is roj-roj ki meeting ki bat meri samajh me nahi aati…yanha subah –subah Charitra Saheb ki surat dekhane ke bajaye humlog field me jate to behatar hota…

 (Chetana is enjoying their talks from a little distance)                            

                                Sandhya

(advancing to the Charitra Verma’s cabin) Bhai mujhe to Charita Saheb ki baten achi lagati hai…

                             Diwakar

(being irritated)

Kayon nahi…..unake muh se hamesha gayan jo tapakata hai…vaise ek bat bolu…yeh adami hai thora sanaki……jara bach ke hi rahana….

                            Sandhya

(Opening the door of cabin)

Charitra Saheb kahate hai ki patrakarita apane aap me ek sanak hai..sanak ke bina patrakarit ho hi nahi sakati…
