Small Entrepreneurs are the Flag Bearers of a Developed Bihar : Nitish Mishra

Patna, December 12: To promote entrepreneurship, provide self-employment, and uplift the economic status of educated unemployed youth in Bihar, the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, organized a fund distribution event under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme and Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme today at Aranya Bhawan, Patna.

The event was graced by the presence of Minister of Industries and Tourism Nitish Mishra, Minister of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Janak Ram, Minister of Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Hari Sahni, Minister of Minority Welfare Md. Zama Khan, and MLA from Digha Assembly Constituency Sanjiv Chaurasia.
Additionally, Bandana Preyasi, Secretary, Department of Industries, Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Director of Industries, Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Director of Handloom and Silk, Shekhar Anand, Director of Technical Development, along with other senior officials of the department, were also present.

Under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme for the financial year 2024-25, the first installment of ₹2 lakh was distributed to beneficiaries. Among the selected applicants, 2,769 beneficiaries who had completed training received a total of ₹55.38 crore as the first installment, with ₹2 lakh allocated per beneficiary. Additionally, under the Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme, for the financial year 2023-24, beneficiaries who had completed training and uploaded utility certificates on the entrepreneur portal were provided the second installment of ₹1 lakh each.

While addressing the beneficiaries, Nitish Mishra said, “Our positive outlook determines how far we can go. I am pleased to see that entrepreneurs in Bihar are working with a positive attitude and clear goals for the future. Their success is certain. The small entrepreneurs here are the flag bearers of a developed Bihar, and we are ready to provide every possible support to them. The success of these schemes and entrepreneurs is encouraging for us. The environment for self-employment is getting stronger in Bihar every day. A significant number of women are also stepping forward and fulfilling their dreams of starting businesses by availing these schemes. These schemes will play a major role in the journey toward a developed Bihar.”

Bandana Preyasi remarked, “We are dedicated to promoting self-reliance. From the beginning, these schemes have positively impacted society and encouraged the spirit of entrepreneurship. We are not only providing financial incentives but also organizing training, which will have a long-term effect on the state’s economy. We are especially encouraging women so that their potential can be fully utilized.”

Janak Ram stated, “These schemes and the youth have the potential to transform Bihar’s image. The government is fully committed to realizing the dreams of the youth and establishing Bihar as a major industrial hub in India. The Department of Industries is working diligently toward achieving the government’s goals.”

Hari Sahni added, “Entrepreneurs should set goals for the future and make optimal use of the financial support provided by the government. I am glad that entrepreneurs in Bihar know how to utilize this funding effectively. The schemes provide sufficient funds, making it easier to establish small industries. The youth are taking advantage of these opportunities and fulfilling their own dreams as well as the aspirations of the state. The government is ready to support them in every way possible.”

Md. Zama Khan expressed, “I am amazed by the impact of these schemes and the enthusiasm of the youth. They are making an extraordinary contribution to building a new Bihar. Our government is committed to promoting self-employment in Bihar. The energy and enthusiasm of the youth are bringing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision to life.”

Sanjiv Chaurasia noted, “These government schemes are unique as they consistently promote self-employment. They are a remarkable blend of development and trust, leading to widespread enthusiasm for self-employment in Bihar. Our government stands firmly with the youth.”

During the program, symbolic checks of ₹2 lakh each were handed over to 10 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme, and symbolic checks of ₹1 lakh each were given to 10 beneficiaries under the Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme. Additionally, five successful entrepreneurs were also felicitated.
